So is this better than what Microsoft offers?Or is it at least as good at what it offers?
Well it's not better that's for sure but it could and it can be as better as Microsoft depending on what you use it for.The best thing about it is that you can actually request features for it, so if you need something more just ask and it might be added sooner than you think.
Another thing it may attract you is that it is available in a lot of languages so your native language might be there too and they might even have a website just for users from your country where you can ask other users about bugs and problems and learn more about it.
As you can see you can create text files, presentations, databases, math formulas etc.
As you can see, you have pretty much all the functionalities you might need to create a new document or presentation, or what you need, with the main features available at just a click.
So, the bottom line is that Open Office is not super complex but simple and very easy to use, with just the things you really need and you get for free.
